So, we met the cutest little kid that was born the very the day we picked up Libby Longears. She was a teensy tiny, black and white girl wearing a pink dog coat (that was made for a yorkie). The farmer explained that she was a cross breed, an accident conceived from a loose boer goat one night, and she would need to be culled from his herd. We made arrangements for her to stay on at that farm, with her mother, for her first 8 weeks. We decided that she would be a perfect companion for Libby, they would be Libby & Lilah.
Eight weeks later we arrived to pick her up. It had been a frigid winter, the coldest in quite some time. The farmer accompanied us out to the barn to collect Lilah and to his surprise both of her ears had been cropped off. Her long ears had frostbite, and literally dropped off in straight lines matching the water line of her drinking bucket.
Poor little girl.
We decided to name her Puzzle....like all puzzles she is missing two pieces.
Puzzle has thrived here at the itty bitty barnyard sanctuary. She is smart and funny and gets into all sorts of crazy predicaments.
